「search」の過去形。誰かや何かを注意深く探したり、システムやウェブサイトなどで情報を調べたりしたことを表す。

「searched for」は目的語に「for」を使う時（例: 'searched for my keys'）、「searched＋場所/人」で直接目的語を取ることもある（例: 'searched the room'）。日常会話でもフォーマルな場面でも使われる。
