Definition

공기나 액체 등이 드나들지 못하게 꽉 막거나 닫는 행위. 문서에 공식 도장이나 인장을 찍는 것도 의미함.

'봉투를 봉인하다', '계약을 확정하다', '용기를 밀봉하다'처럼 기술, 일상, 법률 등 여러 상황에서 널리 쓰인다. 'ceiling'(천장)과 혼동하지 않게 주의.
