Definition
小動物や人が短い足取りで素早く目立たず動くこと。意図的に何か（計画や船など）をだめにする意味もある。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
ネズミやカニなど小動物、または静かに急いで動く人に使われる。秘密にしたい、緊張しているというニュアンスあり。名詞の“scuttle”とは区別。
