सतह पर या हल्का जला हुआ, आमतौर पर तीव्र गर्मी या आग से, लेकिन पूरी तरह नष्ट नहीं हुआ।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

आमतौर पर भोजन, पौधों ('scorched earth') या त्वचा के लिए इस्तेमाल होता है। 'singed' से अधिक लेकिन 'burnt' से कम गंभीर। ज्यादा औपचारिक या वर्णनात्मक संदर्भों में प्रचलित।
