怪我や辛い経験の後に体や心に残る跡のこと。見える傷跡だけでなく、心に残る深い傷も指す。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
文学や心理学でよく使われます。'scarred face'は「傷跡のある顔」、'scarred by experience'は「経験で傷ついた心」など両方の意味に使います。
