어떤 일이 거의 일어나지 않거나, 매우 어렵게 일어남을 나타낼 때 사용합니다.

주로 문어체나 문학적인 상황에서 사용됩니다. 'scarce'와 혼동하지 마세요. 주로 동사 앞이나 문장 앞에 위치합니다. 일상 대화에서는 'barely' 또는 'hardly'가 더 자연스럽습니다.
