Definition

「Scales」は重さを量る道具、魚や爬虫類の体を覆ううろこ、または地図や定規などの目盛りを表します。

重さを量る道具は「はかり」、魚やドラゴンは「うろこ」。計測の線には「目盛り」を使います。音階（music scale）は別の意味です。

We use scales to weigh the fruit at the store.

店で果物の重さを量るために**はかり**を使います。
