昔から伝わる、一般的な知恵や教訓、経験を簡潔に表した短い言い回しやフレーズ。

複数形で使い、伝統や一般的な知恵を表します。「古いことわざ」「日本のことわざ」など。個人的なモットーではありません。「ことわざ」はアドバイス、「名言」は観察や発言を含みます。
