砂

Definition

砂は、岩石が細かく砕けた粒で、主に海辺や砂漠に見られます。建築やその他の用途にも使われます。

「sand」は数えられない名詞なので「a sand」とは言わず「some sand」のように使います。「砂浜」「砂丘」「砂のお城」などの表現に使われます。

The children played in the sand all afternoon.

子どもたちは午後ずっと**砂**で遊びました。

There is sand in my shoes.

靴の中に**砂**が入っています。

The truck carries sand for construction.
