主に軍隊などで、敬意や挨拶を示すために手を上げたりジェスチャーをすること。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
主に軍隊やフォーマルな場で使います。「waving（手を振る）」とは異なり、敬意を込めた所定の動作を指します。「is/are」「while」などとよく使われます。
