Definition

キリスト教などで正式に聖人とされた人、または非常に聖なる・清らかなとみなされる人を指します。

主に宗教的または非常に敬意を表す場面で使われます。やや形式的・古風な印象があります。亡くなった家族について愛情を込めて言う場合もあります（例：「my sainted mother」）。日常会話ではあまり使われません。
