列ボートを漕ぐ

Definition

「列」は人や物が横に並んでいる状態、またはテーブルや劇場などの横の並びを指します。動詞ではオールでボートを漕ぐ意味です。

'in the front row'は最前列、'a row of houses'は家並み、'row number five'は5列目を指します。表などでは横並びが'row'、縦は'column'です。動詞では主にボートを漕ぐ時に使います。

We sat in the first row at the movie theater.
