Las raíces de una planta son las partes que crecen bajo la tierra y absorben agua y nutrientes. La palabra también puede referirse al origen o la fuente profunda de una persona, una cultura o una idea.
Usage Notes (Spanish)
Normalmente se usa en plural para plantas: 'tree roots', 'the roots are deep'. Para origen o identidad, son comunes 'my roots', 'cultural roots' y 'go back to your roots'. No lo confundas con el uso matemático de 'root', que es distinto.
