Linhas ou bordas elevadas e estreitas que formam uma faixa longa e alta, normalmente no topo de colinas, montanhas ou em objetos ou pele.

'Ridges' usa-se principalmente na geografia (montanhas), mas também para saliências ou linhas em superfícies, folhas ou pele. Colocações comuns: 'mountain ridges', 'ridges on a leaf', 'the ridges of your fingerprints'. Não confundir com picos ('peaks'), que são pontos altos; 'ridges' são extensões longas.
