Linhas ou bordas elevadas e estreitas que formam uma faixa longa e alta, geralmente no topo de colinas, montanhas ou até mesmo em objetos ou pele.

'Ridges' é usado frequentemente para formações geográficas (montanhas), mas também para linhas ou superfícies elevadas em objetos e na pele. Colocações comuns: 'mountain ridges', 'ridges on a leaf', 'the ridges of your fingerprints'. Não confundir com 'peaks' (picos), pois 'ridges' são longas e estreitas.
