Definição

車やバイクなどのエンジンの回転数を上げて、大きな音を出すこと。アクセルを踏んでエンジンを速く回す時に使います。

カジュアルな表現で、「engine」や「motor」と一緒に使われることが多い。「revving the engine」の形でよく使います。電気エンジンの音には使いません。興奮や焦りを表すこともあります。
