他人やその気持ち、意見などに敬意を示す、または丁寧な態度をとること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

ふるまいや言葉遣い、態度について使われます。「respectful towards～」で「〜に敬意を持つ」。'respectable'（立派な）とは違うので注意。
