Definition

本来のものが使えない時や手に入らない時に、その代わりになる人や物を指します。

たいてい複数形で使います。「〜の代わり」と言う場合によく使われます。人・物どちらにも使います。「サブスティテュート」とは異なり、一時的な場合だけでなく、恒久的な入れ替えにも使われます。
