以前の、より未発達な状態に戻ること。統計や数学では、変数間の関係を分析する手法のこと。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に科学、心理学、ビジネス、統計で使われます。統計では「回帰分析（regression analysis）」の意味が一般的です。「progression（進行）」と混同しないように注意。
