偵察

Definition

主に軍事目的で、行動を起こす前に地域の情報を収集し調査すること。

「偵察任務」「航空偵察」のように軍事分野で用いられることが多いですが、情報収集の意味でも使われることがあります。日常会話ではあまり使われません。

The army sent a team for reconnaissance before the main attack.

軍は本格攻撃の前に**偵察**チームを送り出した。
