何かに当たってすぐに跳ね返る動き。または、困難や失敗から立ち直ること。バスケットボールでシュートが外れてボールが跳ね返ることも指します。

スポーツ（特にバスケットボール）でよく使う語です。「on the rebound」は失恋直後の回復中を意味します。ビジネスや個人の回復にも使われます。
