Definition

今まで気づかなかったことに新たに気づいたり、理解したりすること。

「突然」「今になって」などと一緒によく使われます。「realize」は「実現する」ではなく「気づく」という意味で使うことが多いです。

She is realizing how important family is.

彼女は家族がどれほど大切か**気づいている**。
