手を伸ばすこと到達すること

Definition

何かに触れたり取ったりするために手や体を伸ばすこと、または場所や目標、数値に到達すること。

'reach for'は何かに手を伸ばすとき、'reach'の後に場所や年齢、数値を置くときは前置詞不要。'reach out'は連絡や助けを申し出る意味がある。「reach to a place」は通常使わず、「reach a place」と言う。

She is reaching for the book on the top shelf.

彼女は一番上の棚の本に手を**伸ばしている**。

The train is reaching the station now.

列車が今、駅に**到着しています**。

Sales are reaching 500 units this month.
