「走る」の過去形で、過去に速く移動したことや、機械やイベントなどを運営・操作したことを表します。

必ず過去の出来事に使い、動物や人だけでなく、運営や操作の意味でも使われます。『ran a business』は『ビジネスを経営した』という意味です。
