襲撃者は、場所を奪う・壊す・奪うなどの目的で突然攻撃する人や集団を指します。主に歴史や軍事などで使われます。

「襲撃者」「レイダー」は主に歴史や軍事、アクション作品で使われます。現代ではスポーツチーム名や企業買収（コーポレートレイダー）にも使われます。日常会話ではあまり使いません。
