指完全不同於傳統的事物或觀點，尤其是思想或變革。有時也用來形容想推動社會、政治等領域徹底變革的人或團體。

Usage Notes (Chinese (Traditional))

“Radical”既可作正面（創新性改變），也可做負面（危險極端）解釋。常見於政治（激進運動）、科學（根本創新），美語俚語有“很棒”之意。不等同“extreme”，後者常更貶義。常用語有“radical idea”、“radical change”等。
