仕事や習慣、活動などをやめること。または、場所や状況を離れる意味もある。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

カジュアルな場面で使うことが多い。「quit smoking」「quit your job」など表現に用いるが、物を止めたいときは 'stop' を使う。'resign' よりも急な印象がある。
