すべての費用を支払った後に企業や人が得るお金。転じて、あらゆる種類の経済的な利益の意味でも使う。

主にビジネスや金融分野で使い、「make profits」「increase profits」など複数形で使われることが多いです。「revenue（総収入）」とは異なり、利益は経費を差し引いた後の金額です。比喩的に利益や恩恵という意味でも使われます。
