প্রোফাইল বলতে সাধারণত কোন ব্যক্তি, কোম্পানি, বা বিষয়ে সংক্ষিপ্ত বিবরণ বোঝায়, বিশেষ করে ওয়েবসাইট বা অ্যাপ্লিকেশনে। এছাড়াও, কারো মুখের পাশের দৃশ্য বা কোন কিছুর সামগ্রিক আকৃতিকেও বোঝাতে পারে।

ডিজিটাল প্ল্যাটফর্মে এই শব্দটি খুব সাধারণ: 'create a profile', 'update your profile picture', 'user profile' ইত্যাদি উল্লেখে ব্যবহৃত হয়। চাকরি বা ব্যবসায়িক প্রসঙ্গে 'company profile' বা 'candidate profile' মানে সংক্ষিপ্ত পরিচিতি। মুখের পাশ বোঝাতে 'in profile' ব্যবহৃত হয়। শুধুমাত্র সোশ্যাল মিডিয়া বুঝায় না।
