Definition

囚人とは、犯罪を犯して刑務所に収容されている人のことです。また、自由を奪われている人にも使われることがあります。

主に刑務所にいる人を指しますが、「捕虜（prisoner of war）」や「自分の恐怖の囚われ人」などの表現にも使われます。日常的には 'inmate' も使われます。
