تعني presence حالة كون شخص أو شيء موجودًا في مكان ما أو ضمن موقف معين. ويمكن أن تعني أيضًا الأثر القوي الذي يتركه شخص ما عندما يكون مع الآخرين.

يشيع استعمال الكلمة في تراكيب مثل 'in the presence of' و 'the presence of something' و 'a strong/commanding presence'. كلمة presence أكثر رسمية من 'being there'. وفي سياق الأعمال والإعلام قد تعني أيضًا الظهور أو الحضور العام، مثل 'online presence' و 'market presence'.
