何かや誰かを他のものよりも好むこと。選択肢があるときによく使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

'prefer A', 'prefer A to B', 'prefer to do A rather than do B' などのパターンがあります。丁寧な言い方として 'would prefer'（例: 'I'd prefer tea.'）もよく使われます。'more prefer' とは言いません。

I prefer tea to coffee.
