前任 表示曾經擔任某職位的人，也可以指先前存在的事物或版本。

"predecessor" 多用於正式或專業場合，如職位交接、歷史、技術進化（如 “my predecessor at this company”, “the predecessor to this model”）。常與 "successor"（繼任者）對比。不用於家族血緣的祖先（要用“ancestor”）。
