Definition

ポータルは壮麗な建物の大きな入口や門のことです。ITやファンタジー分野では、別の世界やウェブサイトへの入口も指します。

建物の場合は壮麗さを感じる入口や門に使います。IT用語では「インターネットポータル」のように使い、ファンタジーでは「異世界への入口」として登場します。「ドア」とは別のニュアンスです。
