ポリマー（高分子）は、多くの小さな単位（モノマー）が鎖のように連なってできた大きな分子です。自然由来や人工的なものがあり、プラスチックやゴムなど身近な素材にも含まれます。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
「ポリマー」は主に化学や材料工学、工業の分野で使われます。「synthetic polymer（合成ポリマー）」「natural polymer（天然ポリマー）」などの表現があります。プラスチックと混同しやすいですが、すべてのポリマーがプラスチックではありません。
