Definition

ものを磨いてなめらかにしたり、光沢を出したりすること。または、つやを出すための製品全般。

靴や銀など物理的に磨く時や、スキル・文章など抽象的にブラッシュアップする意味でも使う。国名の「Polish」とは異なる。

I polish my shoes every Sunday.

私は毎週日曜日に靴を**磨き**ます。
