詩

Definition

詩とは、言葉を特別な方法で選び並べ、感情や考え、イメージを表現する文学作品です。リズムや響き、美しい表現が使われます。

「詩」は個々の作品を指し、「poetry（詩作）」は総称です。「詩を書く」「詩を読む」「詩を朗読する」などがよく使われます。詩は必ずしも韻を踏む必要はありません。

She wrote a short poem for her mother.

彼女はお母さんのために短い**詩**を書きました。

We read a poem in class today.

今日は授業で**詩**を読みました。

This poem is easy to understand.
