素早く、突然に動いたり落ちたりすること。主に水に飛び込む時や、価格・気温などが急落する時に使います。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
‘plunge into water’（水に飛び込む）、‘prices plunge’（価格が急落する）、‘take the plunge’（思い切ってやる）などの表現でよく使われる。'drop'や'fall'より急激なニュアンスがある。
