赤ちゃんや幼児が安全に遊べるように、やわらかい柵で囲まれた小さなスペースのこと。

ベビーベッドやプレイペンは赤ちゃんや幼児向けで、大人や年長の子どもには使いません。「プレイペンを設定する」「プレイペンに入れる」とよく組み合わされます。
