बीज या छोटे पौधों को ज़मीन में लगाने की क्रिया ताकि वे बढ़ सकें। यह किसी ऐसे स्थान को भी दर्शा सकता है जहाँ कुछ उगाया जा रहा हो।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

"Planting" ज़्यादातर संज्ञा है, कभी-कभार क्रियाविशेषण (gerund) भी। आम प्रयोग: "tree planting", "planting season"। कृषि, बागवानी और कभी-कभी रूपक में भी प्रयोग होता है। "plantation" (बड़ी खेती) से न मिलाएँ।
