宇宙で太陽のような恒星のまわりを回る大きな天体で、自分では光を出さないもの。地球や火星、木星などがある。

複数の惑星について話すときは『惑星』を使います。「太陽系の惑星」「惑星を発見する」「惑星が軌道を回る」などの表現でよく使います。
