何かの正確な場所、原因、または詳細を見つけ出す、または示すこと。文字通りの位置や、問題の原因特定など幅広く使われる。

やや硬めの表現で、問題の原因や位置など正確に特定する場合によく使います。日常会話ではあまり使われません。例：'pinpoint the cause', 'pinpoint the location'。
