Definition

「persons」は「person」の複数形で、主に公式文書や法律関連で使われます。日常会話では普通「people」を使います。

「persons」は『missing persons』や『persons under 18』のように案内や法律文書で見かけます。会話では「people」が自然です。

Three persons were named in the report.

報告書には三**人**の名前が挙がっていた。

Only authorized persons may enter this area.

許可された**人員**のみがこの区域に入れます。

The police are looking for two missing persons.

警察は行方不明の二**人**を探している。
