Definition

কাউকে তার জাতি, ধর্ম, বিশ্বাস, বা পরিচয়ের কারণে অন্যায্য বা নিষ্ঠুর আচরণের শিকার করা। এটি সাধারণত দীর্ঘ সময় ধরে ঘটে।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

সাধারণত রাজনৈতিক, ধর্মীয় বা জাতিগত কারণে দীর্ঘমেয়াদী অত্যাচারের ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহৃত হয়। 'prosecution' (আইনি মামলা) এর সঙ্গে গুলিয়ে ফেলবেন না। যেমন: 'religious persecution' মানে ধর্মীয় নির্যাতন।
