Usage Notes (Japanese)

「pen」は「ペン（筆記具）」以外に、動物の「囲い」、または文語で「書く」という意味にも使われます。「pen a letter」（手紙を書く）のような使い方はやや堅い表現です。「ペン」は日本語スラングで「刑務所」を意味しません。
