Definition

大型の野生ネコ科動物で、特に黒いヒョウやジャガーを指します。北米ではピューマやマウンテンライオンを指すこともあります。

「パンター」は独立した種ではなく、黒いヒョウやジャガーなどを指します。フロリダでは特にフロリダパンサー（ピューマの亜種）を意味します。ポップカルチャーでもよく登場します（ブラックパンサー、ピンクパンサーなど）。
