物事の要点や構造を簡単に説明する、または物の輪郭や外側をなぞって示すときに使います。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「outlined the plan」は計画の要点だけ話すこと。「outlined in blue」は外側が青でなぞられているという意味。詳細ではなく概要の場合に使う。
