何かをするのが正しい、または望ましいときに使う表現で、「～した方がよい」に近い意味です。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

'should'よりもフォーマルまたは古風な響きがあります。『ought to + 動詞』の形で使われます。『must』ほど強い義務感では使いません。

Children ought to respect their parents.

子どもは親を尊敬す**べき**です。

You ought to try that new restaurant—it's amazing!

あの新しいレストランをぜひ**試してみるべき**—すごい美味しいよ！

I ought to call my mom; it's been a while.
