과도한 술, 음식, 성적인 행동이 섞인 난잡한 파티. 통제되지 않는 과도한 행동이나 사건을 비유적으로 나타낼 때도 사용된다.

주로 성인, 방탕, 쾌락을 말할 때 쓰이며 비유적으로 'an orgy of spending'처럼 과한 행동을 말할 때도 있다. 공식이나 예의 차리는 자리에서는 잘 쓰이지 않는다.
