Definition

「onto」は、何かや誰かが表面の上に移動する時に使う前置詞です。また、「be onto something」で何かを見抜く、気づくという意味もあります。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「jump onto the bed」のように動きを表す時に使います。位置のみの場合は「on」が多いです。「be onto something」は、“何かに気づいた”というポジティブな意味で使います。
